Apple cake with caramel sauce (dessert)

Cake ingredients:
2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
6 peeled and chopped apples

Caramel sauce ingredients:
1/2 c. cream
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1.5 tsp vanilla

1. Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed sugar. Stir in apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes in a greased 9x13 pan..
2. For caramel sauce, place ingredients in small saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Pour over cake just before serving.
